Changelog

Milestones, not a marketing calendar.

Versions are presentation-layer markers, not published package versions. Dates are the day the work landed. Each entry states only what the source trees implement.

Current

The Rust tree

  1. v0.15.0 ·

    Docs checked against their sources

    • fixed — Every /docs article is re-checked against the ABI, WDBX and Gama READMEs and carries the date of that review.
    • changed — Each article renders its own reference material (MCP tools, site surfaces, WDBX V2 downloads) from the same records as the /docs hub, so the two cannot disagree.
    • fixed — The MCP article lists all twelve contract-covered tools; WDBX V2 is described as the earlier Rust project it documents, not a Zig mirror.
  2. v0.14.0 ·

    First-party sign-in; MCP over HTTP+SSE

    • changed — quesar.cloud leaves the Grok App Builder: sandbox tooling and platform chrome removed, bun and TypeScript throughout.
    • added — Sign-in is first-party Better Auth: email and password, passkeys, and Google, Apple or X when configured.
    • added — abi-mcp's optional loopback listener serves persistent MCP 2024-11-05 HTTP+SSE sessions; POST /message without a session keeps the one-shot reply. Not Streamable HTTP.
  3. v0.13.0 ·

One site for MLAI and Quesar

    • changed — The MLAI corporate site is merged into quesar.cloud, which becomes the only MLAI and Quesar site; the old repository is archived.
    • added — Chat audits and workspace tokens sealed with AES-256-GCM; account deletion purges per-user data.
    • added — https://quesar.cloud serves the static build from GitHub Pages.
  4. v0.12.0 ·

    Research records pinned to source

    • added — Research publications re-reviewed against pinned ABI and WDBX commits, each with its status, limitations and review date.
  5. v0.11.0 ·

    WDBX becomes its own substrate

    • changed — The WDBX crates are extracted from ABI into the wdbx workspace with history preserved; the abi- crate prefix is kept deliberately and ABI builds against it as a sibling.
  6. v0.10.0 ·

    ABI rewritten in Rust

    • changed — The ABI runtime lands as a nightly-Rust workspace; the Zig tree is torn down. ./tools/check.sh is the validation gate and ./tools/cargo.sh the pinned Cargo wrapper.

Before the Rust rewrite

These entries describe the superseded Zig implementation. They are kept for provenance and are not current build or source guidance.

  1. v0.9.0 ·

    Zig 0.17-dev migration begins

    • changed — Runtime migration to Zig 0.17.0-dev started: std.process.Init entry-point pattern, argsAlloc removal, allowlist-only environString.
    • added — Framework spec pages published on the docs site, including the canonical Abbey–Aviva–Abi specification.
    • fixed — JSON-RPC envelope generation corrected in protocol tooling — responses now always emit complete closing frames.
  2. v0.8.0 ·

    Abbey training pipeline

    • added — Full Zig + MLX training stack: GQA transformer (LLaMA-style, 22 layers, 16Q/4KV heads), BPE tokenizer with fill-in-middle.
    • added — LoRA fine-tuning, speculative decoding, sliding-window KV cache, streaming data loader, HuggingFace export, inference REPL.
    • changed — AdamW with cosine-warmup learning rate schedule standardized across training configs.
    • fixed — Known pending: mlx_value_and_grad hookup awaits a stable C gradient ABI in MLX ≥ 0.23.
  3. v0.7.0 ·

    Production infrastructure expansion

    • added — Auth, middleware, and hosted-operation work moved onto the verification roadmap instead of public claims copy.
    • changed — Deployment language now separates local-first implementation from future managed-service direction.
    • fixed — Public collateral no longer presents security or disaster-recovery behavior without linked evidence.
  4. v0.6.0 ·

    Performance tooling & test milestone

    • perf — SIMD CPU detection selects AVX-512 / NEON paths at startup; memory pooling and profiling hooks land in runtime/.
    • added — Evidence tracking introduced for benchmarks, source links, and verification gaps.
    • changed — Scheduler and allocator language now points readers back to source-backed status.
  5. v0.5.0 ·

Zig 0.16 — the Writergate migration

    • changed — Migrated 95 files to the vtable-based std.io.Reader / Writer interfaces; explicit buffer ownership throughout.
    • changed — Standardized ArrayListUnmanaged.empty initialization and explicit allocator passing at every call site.
    • added — CI toolchain pinning with a fail-fast version gate mirroring build.zig.zon.
  6. v0.4.0 ·

    WDBX verification track

    • changed — Distributed coordination language moved from shipped-feature copy to roadmap/evidence language.
    • added — Query routing remains visible in the browser demo as a miniature, not a production cluster claim.
    • perf — Performance language now requires repeatable benchmark scripts before exact public numbers.
  7. v0.3.0 ·

    GPU backend matrix

    • changed — Metal, CUDA, Vulkan, WebGPU, and FPGA are presented as targets unless implementation evidence is linked.
    • added — CPU/SIMD remains the portable baseline for public-facing language.
    • perf — Transfer and kernel speedups require source-backed measurements before publication.
  8. v0.2.0 ·

    Storage engine core

    • added — HNSW approximate nearest-neighbor index tuned for cache locality.
    • added — MVCC snapshot reads — writers never block readers; block-chained WAL for tamper-evident history.
    • changed — Security language now describes verification requirements rather than unsupported guarantees.
  9. v0.1.0 ·

    Initial public release

    • added — ABI Agent + WDBX database open-sourced under Apache-2.0 — Zig core, persona scaffolding, vector storage.
    • added — Multi-provider LLM module: OpenAI, Anthropic, and local Ollama endpoints.
